If you didn’t know it there is a digital business revolution ongoing.  You have probably heard technical jargon such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, metaverse and other terms being thrown around. This is the language of the new digital business age that we are all presently working in. It is part of the digital superhighway in which all businesses including yours must start riding on or get left behind.

Now if your business is not digitally capable, guess what? It will become roadkill along the shoulder of the digital superhighway.

I know that is pretty graphic but true…

Every business right now has no choice but to become digitally capable or soon be out business. And that is a guarantee.

What You Need To Know

Here are a couple of things you need to know about the digital revolution and how it is going to impact you and your business moving forward.

First, a recession is coming. This eventuality is important for your business because things are going to tighten up and business revenues are going to go down.  Now if your business is not digitally capable this revenue downturn is going to be even greater. Your competitors who are digitally capable will be taking business from your business because people will be finding them online while your business will be invisible to these prospective customers due way buyers buy online.

The online buyer journey consists of three stages.  The first stage is awareness. In order for prospective customers to do business with you they first have to find your business online. They can’t find you online unless your business has a strong online presence and search visibility.

The second stage of the buyer journey is consideration. This is when a prospective buyer decides whether or not your business is a good fit to fulfil their need or want. Again if your business does not have a strong online presence this makes it rather difficult for prospective customers to determine your businesses capabilities.

The last stage of the buyer journey is Decision. Based Awareness and Consideration stages the buyer makes a decision to buy or not to buy. If your business fails on the first two stages due to poor online presence then the sale will be lost to your competition.

If your business has a strong online presence through the use of digital systems and technologies you will have a better chance of surviving and thriving during the pending recession.

Second, during a recessionary period most businesses look at cutting back and stop making investments in their business operations. This is the wrong path to take.  Instead of cutting back you should be investing in your business so that you emerge from the recession stronger and better able to capitalize on a post-recession economy. In essence you will be way of your competition that have cutback trying to fruitlessly save money.

Bottom-line, in order to get ahead in business you have to continue to invest into technology no matter the current business cycle whether that be recessionary or expansionary.  There is no FREE lunch out there.

Okay enough to the background, here’s what need to do for the rest of 2023 and beyond.

A Website Is Essential To Business Survivability

Step 1 Get a business website that works as hard as you do.  Your business website is ultra-important because it is the face of your business. If it looks unprofessional then business prospects will perceive that your business is also unprofessional and will go elsewhere. Now if you don’t have a website at all your business is a non-player and a non-factor.

Social Media Marketing Is A Game-Changer

Step 2 You and your business needs to be on social media in a big way. In fact, you need to be posting to the various social media platforms at least 15 times a week to make a difference.  Social media is a great business multiplier. Through it you can drive traffic to your website and acquire new clients and customers.

Text Marketing Can Generate Quick Income

Step 3 Text marketing is a must use because texts immediately get opened and get people’s attention. It’s a great tool to implement in the Awareness stage of the Buyer Journey.  Just about everyone carries a smart phone and can receive texts. Consequently, text marketing can readily reach people where they live… on their phones. When people receive text messages they open them 95% of the time which is a tremendous response rate.

Email Marketing Will Sustain And Grow Your Business

Step 4: And finally your business needs to have an email marketing system setup to remain in constant contact with your prospect and client bases.  By combining email marketing and text marketing you can have a powerful one-two punch which will allow you to build your business faster and more effectively.

That’s it for now.  If you need assistance in implementing any of the above steps, just hit me up. I don’t want your business to become roadkill on my watch.
